MUFULIRA Black Pool Football Club has received jerseys for the 2018/2019 football season valued at over K 27, 000.00 from Blue Lion Investments, Zambia Limited.

Among the items received include, complete sets of football jerseys for seventeen players and polo shirts for the technical bench.

Speaking during the presentation ceremony, Blue Lion Investments Managing Director Mihai Gherghe said that his company decided to donate the football jerseys as a way of giving back to the community.

“This donation has been done in partnership with our UK based sister company as a way of giving back to the community” Gherghe said.

And speaking on behalf of the Town Clerk, Director of Administration and Human Resources at Mufulira Municipal Council Yombwe Chisamu, said that the donation had come at the right time as the Council was unable to meet all the requirements of the club. She further appealed to other stakeholders to invest in the club.

Also present at the presentation ceremony was the Team Manager, Philip Mbewe.

Mbewe said the jerseys would motivate the players to play even harder and qualify to the premier league.

“Football is a sport that unites Zambians. As a team we are very happy with this gesture and we promise to play good football this season so we can make our sponsors and supporters very proud.” Mbewe said.
