By ALICE NACHILEMBE
Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Stanley Kakubo says Zambia will assert itself on global affairs that have a capacity to affect the country’s economic, political and social development.

Speaking on the sidelines of the African Union/European Union 2nd Ministerial meeting being held in Kigali Rwanda, Mr Kakubo said Zambia’s voice will be critical especially on matters of bilateral and multilateral partnerships.

He welcomed the decision by the EU to commit over 4.1 billion dollars for Africa’s development.

Mr Kakubo said Zambia was poised to benefit from the financial facility.

He said Zambia was also looking at securing funds that could help minimize the impact and adverse effects of the Covid- 19 pandemic to the economy.

Mr Kakubo is among African and European Ministers attending the high-level AU/EU 2nd Ministerial Meeting.

The meeting is also preparing for the Heads of States Partnership Meeting that will take place next year.

This is contained in a statement issued by Inutu Mwanza, First Secretary Press  Zambia Embassy.
