 Woman nabbed for impersonating as a medical personnel

Police in Lusaka have arrested a-30-year-old woman for the offences of impersonation and obtaining money by false pretenses.

Police Spokesperson Rae Hamoonga said this is in a case in which a named parent 41, of Lusaka reported that her 15-year-old daughter who was defiled, was being treated by the suspect from her house.

Mr Hamoonga said the parent noticed something unusual in that the suspect kept on demanding for money from the victim’s family which they would source and pay via mobile phone amounting to K15, 962=00.

He said the mother to the victim then became suspicious when the purported ‘Doctor’ failed to put a cannula on the child and instead advised that she drinks the intravenous fluid.

Mr Hamoonga said Natasha Nyimbili the suspect who claims to be a third year medical student drop out from a named university is detained in Police custody and will appear in court soon.

“This occurred between January 3, 2022 and February 4, 2022 at Presidential Housing Initiative area of Chainama in Lusaka,” he said.
