 Times Printpak withdraws labour

Times Printpak employees have withdrawn labour following non payment of salaries.

Zambia Union of Journalists (ZUJ) National General Secretary Robinson Kunda said Times Printpak have gone for about eight months without pay.

Mr Kunda said the the work boycott was arrived at during the ZUJ meeting held on April 20, 2018.

He said during the said meeting unionised employees at Lusaka and Ndola Chapels resolved to withdraw labour.

“The resolution to withdraw labour was unanimously arrived at after carefully analysing the slow pace at which management at Times was dealing with upaid salary arears for our members.

“The situation was aggrevated by Information Minister Dora Siliya who promised that Governement will clear three months salary areares. But that promise has not been honoured ever since March 23, 2018 when the promise was made,” he said.

He said the aforementioned reasons had left unionised Times Primtpak employees wihtout option but to with draw labour.

The work boycott begins today Tuesday May 15, 2018 till the when Government meets the plight of employees.

Mr Kunda remains hopeful the employees’ welfare at Times Printpak would receive the urgency it deseves.
