Tenant Chembo elevated to head coach

Super Division side Forest Rangers have elevated Tenant Chembo to the position of head coach a month after he was unveiled as assistant coach.

The former Lumwana Radiants coach replaces Tenant Chilumba, who was sent on administrative leave in May after a string of poor results.

Club Vice Chairman Chota Ngalande announced the development during a press briefing that Chembo has been elevated to head coach in a new look technical bench.

He said Chembo will be assisted by Dominic Changwe and Owen Kaposa while Francis Kasonde and Tom Kampamba are physical and goalkeeper trainers respectively.
Kaposa was also part of the Chilumba-led technical bench.
“After last season’s unsatisfying performance, we had to re-strategeize as a club and we are happy to say things are shaping up,” he said.
Ngalande said the appointment of Chembo, additional technical staff and players will help the club achieve the objectives set for the 2021-2022 season.
“We are confident in our preparations thus far, and we look forward to playing ABSA CUP and finishing this coming season in the top 4 bracket once,” he said.

Chembo also coached Zesco United, Buildcon and Mufulira Wanderers before moving to Lumwana last season but stepped down barely six months in-charge due to unknown reasons.
