The opposition Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) President Kasonde Mwenda has called on various stakeholders to engage to support government calls to come up with a legitimate decision to abolish Prison death penalty.
Mr Kasonde said that there is need for the new dawn administration to ensure that courts come up with other means of punishing offenders as opposed to death penalty.
“ We all have to come on board to support the new dawn Government so that the death penalty can be abolish and find other means to punish offers,” he said.
And Prisons Care and Counseling Association (PRISCA) Executive Director Godfrey Malembeka has welcomed calls made by the UPND to abolish the death penalty.
Mr Malembeka has described death penalty as inhuman as it contradicts and contravenes Zambia’s Christians values.
