RainbowParty has saluted Government through the Food Reserve Agency (FRA) for hiking the floor price of a 50 KG bag of maize this season.

Rainbow Party National Spokesperson Humphery Kabwe said it is a great move move that needs everyones support especially farmers.

Mr Kabwe said the party is happy to see the Government responding to the call and cry of farmers when it comes to the economic price for the maize .

He said the decision that the Government has taken will encourage farmers to grow more maize in the next farming season.

Mr Kabwe has urged the Government through FRA to ensure that farmers are paid upon delivery of their product so that the farmers can benefit from the price increase.

“We also want to salute Goverment for having managed to secure the fertilizer early and distributed them to the point of distribution around the country. Meaning farmers will be able to prepare their fields properly for the coming farming season. As a party, we want to appeal to farmers not to sell the input once they receive them but rather use it to grow more crops in order for their families and the nation to have enough food and more revenue,” he said.
