Police refute claims of insecurity in Kanyama

The Police have refuted claims of what has been reported in some quarters of the media in a matter where a man was found dead in the early hours of yesterday in Kanyama Compound citing insecurity in the area.
Police Spokesperson Esther Katongo said that it is suspected that the victim could have had an epileptic attack which he suffers from while going to work in town where he did some pieces of work.
Ms Katongo said the truth of the matter is that a report of sudden death was received from members of the public which happened at Joe Gate area in Kanyama along Kalusha Bwalya road in Kanyama.
She said Police made a follow up and found a body of a man who was later identified by his wife Ogin Kasumbalesa 30,of old Kanyama as John Ngoma, 40 years.
Ms Katongo said the body was found lying in a drainage facing down with a cell phone in the hand .
She said the body was with no injuries and relatives of the deceased indicated that the deceased was epileptic.
Ms Katong said the body of the deceased is in university Teaching Hospital mortuary and the police do not suspect foul play however an inquiry has been launched to rule out all possibilities.
