A-23 year old man of Mansa has been arrested for ambushing a 13-year old girl whom he dragged to a nearby bush and slept with her.

The minor was playing outside their house when Alfred Bwalya pounced on her and dragged her to a nearby bush within the vicinity of the girl’s parent’s house where he had carnal knowledge of the minor.

Even attempts by the young brother of the minor to rescue the girl from Bwalya’s sex jaws, couldn’t yield positive results.

He watched helplessly as over-sexually charged Bwalya continued molesting the sister.

Police Spokesperson Esther Katongo has confirmed the development in a statement.

Ms Katongo said Bwalya took advantage of the absence of the parents.

She said the victim’s mother had left the minor with her 10-year old brother at home and Bwalya from the same village had seized the opportunity.

“The suspect was arrested by the Community Crime Prevention Unit (CCPU) members and handed him over to police where he is detained in police custody. The incident occurred on October 17, around 10:00 hours at Mabili village,” she said.
