Chipolopolo patron Pastor Peter Makembo says the appointment of Beston Chambeshi by FAZ as senior men national team coach is welcome.

Speaking in an interview with The Independent Observer, Makembo said that Zambia is remaining with few months to prepare the team for the world Cup qualifiers and the appointment of the local coach is an excellent move.

“ For us fans we are saying that time is what we don’t have, come September we have to be at Mauritania for our first game, so the quick appointment of Chambeshi to work with Numba Mumamba is a good move,” he said.

Makembo has appealed to FAZ to give the two coaches the necessary inputs they need to enable them prepare the team adquately.

He said football brings people together and the two coaches should work extra hard to prepare and make sure that they qualifies the team to the world cup.

Makembo has called on the soccer fans to rally behind the two coaches and give them the massive support for them to deliver.

“This will not only be for FAZ, but to all stallholders to come on board to put the resources together and supports our team,” he said.
