 ECL urged to network with former African Leaders

President Hakainde Hichilema has urged former President Edgar Lungu and former Vice Presidents to network with former African Presidents in pushing for peace and stability on the continent.

President Hichilema says instability affects development.

The President was speaking when he honoured three former African Presidents with the Order of the Eagle of Zambia – First Division for their exemplary leadership.

This was during a Special Investiture Ceremony held at State House.

The three are Olusegun Obasanjo of Nigeria, Ernest Bai Koroma of Sierra Leone, and Ellen Sirleaf Johnson of Liberia who was also Africa’s first elected Female President.

President Hichilema praised the three former heads of state for their commitment to supporting Africa’s social and economic development.

And Mr Obasanjo thanked President HICHILEMA for the honour which he said will encourage him and his colleagues to do more for the continent.

Meanwhile, Ms Sirleaf Johnson thanked President Hichilema for honouring African women.
