The number of confirmed cases of the Coronavirus have risen to twelve.
President Edgar Lungu says eleven of the cases are from people that recently visited Coronavirus high risk countries, while one came in contact with those who are infected locally.
President Lungu says all the affected people have been quarantined.
The Head of State has also announced the closure of all the airports except the Kenneth Kaunda International Airport in Lusaka.
President Lungu says those coming into the country will be quarantined in medical facilities if they show signs of the disease, whilst those who have no signs will be quarantined for 14 days at their own cost.
And, President Lungu has ordered the closure of bars, night clubs and Casinos.
The President said restaurants will only operate on take away basis.
President Lungu further directed that funerals and wedding ceremonies should be restricted to not more than 50 people.
And, President Lungu said those holding funerals and weddings should seek guidance and clearance from the Health Authorities.
President Lungu said the measures are meant to help in the prevention of the Coronavirus and are effective midnight Thursday.
The President has also urged Zambian Missions Abroad to review the VISA application for those that want to come to Zambia.
