Chingola inmate escapes; shot in the arm

An inmate at Chingola Central Police cells has been shot in the arm after he tried to escape from the Chingola Magistrate court where he was appearing.

Two gun shots were fired attracting the attention of many within town centre.

And when the suspect was seen running away from police officers, citizens took the chase until he was apprehended.

Kalenga Chishimba who is facing the charge of causing death by dangerous driving escaped at the court when he was brought for mention.

Annoyed that his sureties didn’t come at the court, Chishimba devised his own escape plan, dodged from the bench and jumped through Nchanga hotel wall fence where the pursuing police officer had opened fire.

The gun wound derailed his mobility thereby being apprehended by two Chingola Council officers Sergeant  Innocent Chola in shades and Constable Honest Samba.
