Chambishi Football Club have fired interim coach Dennis Njapau together with his assistants Christian Mpoya and Elijah Sinkala.

Njapau was appointed interim coach after the departure of Israel Mwanza earlier this season.

Fourth placed Chambishi have 50 points from 29 matches played in Division One with five matches left in the season.

‘It is official we have released coaches Dennis Njapau, Christian Mpoya and Elijah Sinkala. As you have seen the race is tight and we have been getting draws and losses,’ club spokesperson Chali Katongo said.

Katongo has since announced the appointment of Elijah Chikwanda as new head coach.

‘The race is tight so we have brought in an experienced coach Elijah Chikwanda to pull us through into Super League,’ Katongo confirmed.

Chikwanda is a veteran coach with vast experience that has seen him coach Lusaka Dynamos, Nkwazi, Napsa Stars and Mufulira Wanderers among other teams.
