Boxer Phiri hunts for gold

Zambia’s bantamweight boxer Samson Phiri yesterday became the talk of the town at the AU Region 5 games after he knocked out his opponent from Lesotho within a minute.

Phiri’s punch was strong enough to send the competing athlete to the ground & the match was immediately called off after he failed to get up. He was later escorted off the ring as he wept.

Phiri progresses to the next round as he hunts for a gold medal.
