Police in Mwinilunga have arrested five police officers and nine PF carders for various offences including theft of gold worthy K24 million, The Independent Observer has been told.
North-Western PF Provincial Chief Jackson Kungo was has already been suspended by his party for his alleged involved in the scandal of them of gold valued at K24,739,335,90.
Those arrested are James Banda, Syney Musefwe, Martin Choonga, Chief Inspector Silver Kasongi and Deputy Inspector Michael Nzala all police officers who are jointly arrested for the offence of destroying evidence and theft by public servant contrary to the laws of Zambia.
Others arrested in connection with the same scam are PF cadres led by Mr Kungo himself, Christopher Mutalenu, Humphrey Katoka, Kenneth Kawatu, William Zulu.
And also Timothy Mulusa, Majory Sikwenya, Charity Kasawenda and Catherine Mukuma who are jointly arrested for theft.
The suspect will appear at Mwinilunga Magistrate court on May 22, 2020.
