The opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) in Eastern Province has charged that the Farmer Input Support Programme (FISP) has been a mess from the time the PF assumed power.

Reacting to recent revelations that over 2,000 farmers in Vubwi’s Zozwe area have not received inputs for the 2018/19 season, NDC Provincial Chairperson Samuel Lugomo Phiri, said the PF has mismanaged farmers in the country.

Mr Phiri notes that the latest problem is not only peculiar to Vubwi, stating that most farmers even in Chipata have not received their inputs.

He said agriculture in the region’s economic driver, noting with sadness that the PF has destroy the sector.

Mr Phiri indicates that in areas like Luangeni in Chipata, most farmers where given top dressing fertilizer before compound-D.
